I've downloaded and installed Homevisu Community Edition on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
The program starts and when I enter the setup the menu Device Setup is empty. According to the V1.7 manual on page 95 there should be en menu structure below "Device setup" as shown below.

Device Setup
PLCBUS
connection
check connection
autoconnect
etc
etc

Everything below Device Setup is not visible in my case.
I must have missed something, but I do not know what.

The language setting seems to be missing too. Currently the program is in German. Although this is not a real problem I prefer the language to be English.
The English language file is present and in the homevisu.ini the following line is present: language=English

How do I fix this?

homeVisu do not find its additional files and subfolders!

On Linux java homeDir and userDir are always the same.
So you must install java applications in your userDir.

That’s: /home/your_user_name

/home/your_user_name/homeVisu.jar
/home/your_user_name/homeVisu.ini
/home/your_user_name/language-files
/home/your_user_name/devices/devices.jar
/home/your_user_name/components/components.jar
