Hello,

I' m a new user of this forum, and what a nice idea to have a place to talk about PLCBUS !
I was on X10, i recently migrated to PLCBUS, with no bad surprise...
The only one thing is that PLCBUS modules are few !!!

I'm very keen on practising electronic (microcontrollers and others small nices things) and had realized some projects.
I just bought 3 chip modules 201071 with I2C interface; I'd like to develop my own modules (with temperature, humidity, light sensors, ...).
My soft is Homeseer 2.4 with PLCBUS stipus plugin, everything works well !!!

Are there some hobyists in here ??
It would be nice to share ideas about "custom modules" !!
If there's interest for that kind of thing, if you have ideas of modules you dream about, but don't exist, let me know !!!
:P :P

Hello,

nice to meet someone who is planning similar.
I come from Germany. Where do you come from?

I want to develop some own modules.
I've no experience with PLC-bus yet. But i'm also electronics hobbyist.

I also could imagine to integrate data such as outside / room temperature and humidity. Or to have light sensors for controlling shutters.

But first i'd like a simple communication between two participants.

Yesterday i've received from ¶ two "blue chip" modules. :P

Hallo Scrat115!!

Hello wpedro,

if you can program PIC-Microcontrollers, you can use two interface-modules 1141 for your evaluation tests?

Interface-module 1141 integrates PLC-BUS Chip-module 201071 - PIC16F628A - Max232.
You also can find the pinout for ICSP of PIC16F628A on 1141-board.
I think with 1141, you could start faster to evaluate PLC-BUS.

Hello,

Glad to see that there are hobyists !!!
I learned german long time ago, but english is the most efficient way to talk, don't you think ??

I've just received my blue chip modules
temperature and light sensors are I2C, but the heart will be an AVR ATMEL for my own...

hallo acebillyfr!!

Okay English is better, but my English is very bad.
AVR Microprocessor is really good, but I love Microchip. At first time I want to learn the PLCBUS Protocoll.
At second time I want to transfer data over the powerline.

best regard

Hi PLCBUSguru

Have you same programmsample for I2C Bus for Microprozessor?
Are the Pullup Resistors for SDA,SCL on the Chip ?

best regards

Hello wepedro,

Program samples:
No, I am sorry; I do not have sample code.

Pull-up resistors:
Module has built-in the pull-up resistors.
Max current of SDA, SCL is 20mA.

Hello wpedro !
I searched a little bit....for I2C protocol use with microchip
Take a look at the link below...everything you must know is in here !

Hallo acebillyfr !!!

Thank you for the technical information. But I know I2C protocoll.

My Question is, when I send the data(I2C) to the bluechip is this enoght or i must set a trigger for starting operating.

best regards
